It's funny, if you're buying shoes for a night out, you probably won't Google how to do it. You would not go through countless articles on how to choose the best party shoes or be concerned about what others might think of your choice. When it comes to wedding shoes, though, this is exactly what many brides do. And we understand; it's bothersome. Shoes are a big thing at the best of times, and your wedding shoes are an important decision.

Myth: You will only wear your wedding shoes once

Truth: If you choose the right pair of wedding shoes from us, you can wear them again and again.

Why would you spend all that money on one of the most amazing pairs of shoes you'll ever own, only to wear them once before storing them in a box at the back of your wardrobe? Beautiful shoes are just waiting to be worn multiple times!  You can find them in almost every colour of the rainbow, not to mention in glittery and metallic shades!

If you want to wear your wedding shoes again, check through your closet and consider which colours will fit best with your own style. Ivory shoes are extremely versatile because they go with almost everything. Which do you prefer, an open or closed-toe? Do you want to wear your wedding shoes only on special occasions or as often as possible? Answering these questions before beginning your wedding shoe search may help you narrow it down a little.

Getting more 'cost per wear' out of your wedding shoes also justifies the price, which will almost certainly be greater than buying a regular pair of shoes. On that note, don't confuse low price with good value—while price does not necessarily determine quality, cheap shoes may be poorly manufactured in unforgiving synthetic materials, so it's worth paying a little extra to assure you won't be in pain!

Myth: You should break in your wedding shoes before wearing them

Truth: A good quality pair of wedding shoes must be comfortable from the first wear

Another common misunderstanding is that you should wear your shoes around the house, ironing, and go to the corner store before the big day. Excuse us, but isn't the whole point of wedding shoes to be, well, your wedding shoes? Also, a good quality pair of shoes that fit properly should not require breaking in.

You might want to try them on a few times at home, if it's a heel height you're not used to and you want to make sure you're confident. Even this we'd question because it's risky going for shoes that are a million miles out of your comfort zone in the first place. We never recommend wearing a four-inch heel if you live in crocs!

A high-quality, well-fitting pair of shoes should feel comfortable from the moment you put them on. It's true that they'll become even more comfortable as the soft leather moulds to the shape of your foot, but if they require significant breaking in before your wedding day, they're probably not the shoes for you.

Myth: You must wear heels at your wedding

Truth: Flat wedding shoes from us are as elegant as heels

It's true that you walk a little differently when you're wearing heels. In fact, the entire theory behind high heels is that they lengthen the leg and draw attention to one's bumps! That is true for higher heels, but even a mid-heel will change the way you walk, and you will move slightly differently than in a completely flat shoe.

People traditionally believe that wearing a heel on your wedding day improves your posture and hence how nice the dress looks. We're not saying this isn't true, and we love a good heel, but we'd like to return to our favourite point about comfort. If you don't feel at ease in heels but feel relaxed in a pair of flats, it's far better to stick to what you know than try to be someone you're not. It doesn't matter how exquisite a pair of heels makes you appear to others; if you don't feel comfortable in them, you'll be a lot more elegant in what you know.

Flats were the lesser choice back then because, to be honest, they were nearly non-existent! Unless you choose a timeless ivory ballerina (for which we salute you, style queen), your selections were rather restricted and/or not something you'd want to be seen outside the house. Nowadays, everything from sophisticated metallic strappy shoes to bejewelled flip flops is ready and waiting to follow you down the aisle.
