The Best Wedding Shoes For Your Wedding Outfit

No outfit is complete unless it is complemented by the perfect pair of shoes. After you've chosen the perfect dress and embellished it with stunning accessories, it's time to focus on your shoes.

Location

The first thing you should consider is location, as you will have done with the rest of your outfit. Heels are normally ideal for a formal setting, but they would be inappropriate for a beach wedding in the sand; a wedge would be more appropriate. Non-traditional weddings in unusual locations, such as on uneven terrain or outdoors, may even require flat footwear.

Heel Size

If you've settled on an elegant heel to complement your lovely clothing, height is the next step. If you have trouble walking in high heels, a kitten heel will be more comfortable. Don't underestimate the importance of comfort in your shoes on the day; if you're uncomfortable, it will affect your entire experience, and the last thing you want to be concerned about is your feet hurting.

If you can handle a slightly higher heel, consider wearing a stiletto heel with clothes that already extend your legs, such as a pencil skirt. A stiletto heel will make your legs appear to be even longer.

Colour

You must choose a shoe colour based on the colour scheme of your outfit. This does not have to be an identical match, but rather something complementing. A simple shirt or dress could be paired with a bright shoe colour to bring the entire ensemble to life. If you're wearing a patterned dress, a plain shoe or ivory shoe is preferable so there's not too much going on.

Matching your bag to your shoes is a great way to tie an outfit together and give it a polished look.

Season

If the wedding is months away, it's easy to fall into the trap of choosing shoes that are excellent for the current season but not necessarily appropriate for the wedding season. Even if you have an indoor wedding, you will most likely spend some time outside and should consider the usual weather during that time. Depending on your preferences, summer may call for an open toe shoe or even a sandal. Depending on the dress type, a closed heel or even a booted heel may be required in the winter.

When shopping for an outfit, we recommend starting with the dress and then working your way down to the shoes. Finding a dress to match an existing pair of shoes can be much more difficult and restricting, so try to leave accessories and shoes until last. If you are still undecided about your shoe selection and decide to come to your local store for your outfit, look for the Avalia collection.
